Job summary

Toolkit Tutors is seeking a dedicated tutor to provide in-person STEM and literacy support at a Queens, NY DOE school. The role involves small-group instruction, data-driven tailoring, and daily attendance notes during school hours.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (completed or near completion) and at least one year of classroom or tutoring experience, with strong communication and reliability to help students grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, completed or near completion with strong academic performance.
• Experience teaching or tutoring in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured, engaging STEM (Algebra 1, Earth Science) + Literacy (Phonics, Rewards) instruction to small groups.
• Review student baseline data to tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Help students deploy effective study skills, including organization and problem-solving strategies.
• Take daily attendance and tutoring notes using a personal device.
• Communicate professionally with school staff and Toolkit Tutors leadership.
• All curriculum and materials provided.
