Job summary

Amrize in Otsego, MI is seeking a Plant Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of fixed and mobile equipment at the Otsego shop and CER sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and document repairs while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience, with welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preference for Industrial Maintenance/Mechanical Technology or related training.
• 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience required; welding experience preferred.
• Proven experience as a plant or quarry mechanic in an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on quarry plant equipment and mobile machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete timely repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform on-site repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow safety, environmental and company policies while working on equipment.
• Coordinate with operations to prioritize maintenance needs.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and shutdown/startup activities.
• Rebuild or fabricate parts and repair electrical equipment.
