Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Indiana seeks a Shift Lead to coordinate the stripping crew at our quarry. You will lead daily activities, monitor progress, enforce safety policies, conduct pre-shift meetings, and coordinate with quarry leadership to meet production targets.

This role demands the ability to guide a heavy industrial crew, ensure safe operation of mobile equipment, adapt to changing conditions, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and motivate crews in a heavy industrial, mining, quarry, or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of safe operating practices for mobile equipment and earthmoving activities.
• Proven ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and make sound operational decisions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and accountability.
• Capability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt to changing operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily stripping crew activities to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations.
• Monitor work progress and direct equipment operators to achieve production targets and site objectives.
• Promote and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance across the crew.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate work plans, and maintain effective coordination with quarry leadership.
• Inspect work areas, equipment, and operating conditions to identify and address operational or safety concerns.
