Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an APL Quantum Intern to contribute to quantum advanced packaging development and related experiments. You will work with engineering teams to execute DOEs, analyze results, and model processes that impact wafer-to-wafer bonding and TSV/TOV integration.

The role involves collaboration, documentation, and communicating findings to stakeholders, with a focus on AI tools and emerging technologies. A six-month co-op is preferred, with up to 10% travel and 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Education: At least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or related field during internship; 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
• Language: English proficiency (written & verbal).
• Travel: Up to 10% travel.
• Workload: Able to work at least 40 hours per week during internship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform design of experiments (DOEs) using internal semiconductor tooling and at external partners.
• Analyze and interpret engineering data from experiments, process optimizations, and development activities.
• Develop or support process models to improve understanding of advanced packaging and integration performance.
• Assist engineers with daily integration, process-development, documentation, and problem-solving activities.
• Communicate experimental results, technical findings, and recommended next steps to project stakeholders.
