Job summary

Qunnect, a dynamic Brooklyn-based startup, is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to help build and operate quantum networking software. You will work with physicists and hardware engineers to turn early-stage products into robust software controlling quantum devices.

This on-site role focuses on designing production-quality software, distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools to support metro-scale networks on fiber testbeds worldwide, including New York City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of full stack software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern web technologies (JS/React).
• Experience end-to-end: backend APIs, frontend components, data modeling.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-quality software for quantum networking systems.
• Build and operate distributed systems coordinating devices across sites.
• Maintain tools, CI/CD pipelines, and test infrastructure.
• Deploy, maintain, and support software for internal and external users.
• Collaborate with physicists, hardware engineers, and manufacturing teams.
• Improve reliability, observability, and performance of the software stack.
