Job summary

Qunnect in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Forward Deployed Field Services Engineer to deploy and support quantum networking systems at customer sites worldwide. You will install hardware, integrate with fiber infrastructure, bring systems online, validate performance, troubleshoot, and train customers for ongoing operation.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on laboratory experience with optical or quantum systems.
• Ability to align and troubleshoot optical systems.
• Experience with quantum light sources, detectors, and timing equipment.
• Strong analytical mindset and methodical debugging approach.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Qunnect quantum networking systems at customer sites.
• Deploy hardware into telecom facilities, labs, data centers and networks.
• Configure systems including entangled-photon sources and detectors; validate performance.
• Perform end-to-end testing and acceptance measurements after installation.
• Diagnose and resolve optical, electronic, software, and networking issues in the field.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and requalification.
• Train customers on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Serve as technical point of contact during deployments and field activities.
• Develop procedures, checklists, and customer documentation.
• Create scripts/tools for diagnostics and deployment validation.
• Analyze performance and identify degradation or failure modes.
• Coordinate deployment logistics and site readiness.
• Collaborate with science, hardware, software, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Feed deployment learnings back into product design and reliability improvements.
• Support demos, experiments, and new network deployments.
• Help scale Qunnect's global installed base.
