Job summary

Milo’s Tea Company in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking a Quality Trainee to help ensure production quality and compliance with GMP and SQF standards.

You will collect samples, perform testing, document results, and support continuous improvement initiatives as part of a fast-growing beverage leader.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; biology/food science preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products meet Milo’s quality standards.
• Collect samples for bacteria plating and daily checks.
• Monitor GMP/SQF compliance.
• Maintain lab equipment and calibration schedules.
• Assist with raw ingredient receipt and testing.
• Support overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
• Participate in environmental testing of air, water, bacteria.
• Contribute to corporate responsibility programs.

Position Summary

The Quality Trainee will assure consistent quality of production by enforcing quality and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all products are produced per Milo’s quality standards.
• Obtain samples for bacteria plating and daily quality checks as needed.
• Monitor compliance with and administer GMP or SQF requirements.
• Ensure Food Safety and Food Quality compliance as directed.
• Maintain all laboratory and testing equipment and perform calibrations per schedule.
• Assist with the receipt of raw ingredients and sample, test and/or review.
• Monitor FIFO and communicate concerns to the QA Manager.
• Perform testing and document weights, volumes, colors, brix, codes, packaging integrity, and other routine testing as required.
• Perform environmental testing of air, water, and bacteria according to schedules.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the QA Manager.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Collect and prepare samples for shipment as needed.
• Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have an Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school minimum. Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science, Chemistry is preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software including Microsoft Office Suite.
