Job summary

Epitec is seeking a Quality/Test Engineer 3 to support our Client's manufacturing operations in Decatur, IL. This hands-on role focuses on driving corrective actions, leading continuous improvement, and serving as a key liaison between plants and suppliers.

The position is 1st shift, 100% onsite, a 12-month contract with start date November 2, 2026, offering pay up to $44/hour and opportunities to lead RCCA investigations and Six Sigma projects on the factory floor.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; associate degree with 10+ years experience or master's with 3+ years experience considered.
  • Experience applying 8D or similar structured problem-solving methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams through problem-solving activities and quality investigations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead emergency, interim, and permanent corrective actions for internal and customer quality concerns.
  • Drive RCCA investigations across manufacturing operations.
  • Act as a quality ambassador and coach supporting End-to-End Built-In Quality initiatives.
  • Lead quality improvement projects utilizing Office 365 tools and data analysis.
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
  • Manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Apply Six Sigma, 8D, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Inspect, contain, analyze, and communicate quality data to factory quality teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in both office and production environments.

What You'll Do
