Job summary

Ecotal in Austin, TX, is seeking a Quality & Test Engineer to support its manufacturing scale-up. This role is ideal for an engineering generalist who wants to deepen quality skills, with flexibility for candidates from mechanical, manufacturing, test, process, supplier quality, or similar fields.

You’ll work with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers on inspection, root cause analysis, process control, and component testing, building robust quality documentation as the company grows.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing or aerospace engineering.
• Experience with GD&T, statistics basics, and root-cause methods.
• Ability to read and mark up engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and work instructions for fabricated and assembled components.
• Root cause analysis, CAPA, and nonconformance investigations.
• GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, Cpk, SPC, and process capability.
• Supplier quality, source inspections, supplier audits, and first article inspections.
• Functional, performance, and environmental testing.
• Design and process FMEAs.
• Quality documentation, traceability, and continuous improvement.
• Helping build and scale quality processes as the company grows.

Quality & Test Engineer | High-Growth Energy Technology Company

Austin, Texas | 5 days onsite

We're working with a high-growth energy technology company looking to add a Quality & Test Engineer to support its manufacturing scale-up.

This is a great opportunity for an engineering generalist who wants to build deeper experience in quality. You do not need to come from a traditional quality engineering background. They’re open to candidates coming from mechanical, manufacturing, test, process, supplier quality, or similar engineering roles.

You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers on everything from inspection and root cause analysis to process control and component testing.

What you’ll be working on:

• Inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and work instructions for fabricated and assembled components
• Root cause analysis, CAPA, and nonconformance investigations

What they’re looking for:

• 2-5 years of engineering experience
• Experience with GD&T, basic statistics, and root cause methodologies such as 5-Why or fishbone
• Ability to read and mark up engineering drawings and CAD models
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Interest in quality engineering and working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
• Experience in regulated manufacturing is a plus
