Job summary

Atlas Tube at Zekelman Industries, Chicago, IL, is seeking a Quality Technician responsible for supporting product quality on the night shift. Responsibilities include ultrasonic testing oversight, managing non-conforming material, and auditing inspections to ensure strict manufacturing standards.

The role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and teamwork. Training will cover testing procedures, SAP data entry, and safety compliance within a busy lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or some college preferred.
• Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from mill areas for testing and evaluation.
• Prepare samples for required mechanical and quality testing.
• Operate and maintain testing lab equipment and machinery.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers to verify specifications.
• Enter mechanical testing results into SAP accurately.
• Perform work in compliance with company safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate ongoing quality and departmental issues to the Quality Supervisor.
• Notify Quality Technicians or management of testing issues, including failures or equipment malfunctions.
• Report machine issues to maintenance personnel and quality leadership.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization of the work area.
• Train other employees as assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
