Job summary

Piston Group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Quality Technician to test and inspect welded parts across production stages, compile data, and support quality reliability initiatives.

You will review supplier non-conforming parts, work with the Quality Engineer on dispositions, and assist with prototype builds, gage R&R, and training of production staff on quality matters. Daily QC duties and audits are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Five years of experience as a Quality Technician or related role.
• Authority to take action to prevent nonconformity; contact supervisor or quality employee with disposition authority.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings to determine quality standards.
• Selects products for tests at production stages and tests various qualities.
• Records test data and applies SPC, MSA/GR&R procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports indicating deviations from standards.
• Performs destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance and material characteristics.
• Conducts daily process audits of welding cells.
• Prepares graphs or charts of data for analysis.
• Manages LPA process audits with weekly assignments and records.
