Job summary

UNAVAILABLE evaluates and inspects welded parts along production to ensure quality and reliability. The role reviews daily supplier non-conforming parts and supports prototype builds with gage R&R and launch checklists.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, selecting test points, recording data with SPC/GR&R, and performing both destructive and nondestructive tests to verify material characteristics and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of experience as a Quality Technician or related role.
• Employees have authority to prevent nonconformities and must report them to the supervisor or quality personnel.

Responsibilities

• Select and test products at stages in production for dimensions, performance, and material characteristics.
• Record test data and apply basic SPC/MSA/GR&R quality controls.
• Evaluate data and write reports indicating deviations from standards.
• Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance and material properties.
• Conduct daily process audits of weld cells per procedures.
• Prepare graphs or enter data for analysis and tracking.
• Perform dock audits and manage LPA process audits weekly.

Overview

Tests and inspects products including welded parts at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Review daily supplier non-conforming parts and work with Quality engineer for disposition. Communicates quality concerns or issues to production associates. Assist with prototype builds before shipment included gage r&r and safe launch checklist. Assists in the training of production associates for quality related matters. Assist as line side QT as needed. Process daily scrap through trans4M and maintain controls of parts going in and out of the quarantine cage.

Responsibilities

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
• Records test data, applying basic statistical quality control procedures (SPC, MSA/GR&R).
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

• Perform daily process audits of all production weld cells per audit procedures
• Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
• Performs dock audits per the quality plan.
• Manage LPA process audit with weekly assignments and records.

Qualifications

Five years of experience as a Quality Technician or a related role.
