Job summary

Corning seeks a Quality Technician in Phoenix, AZ to perform sampling and laboratory testing of raw materials, manage test instruments, and maintain records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will implement the 6S system, support ISO standards, and collaborate with QA specialists while driving process improvements and data-driven decisions. A bachelor’s in data management or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in statistical methods including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and time series analysis.
• Expertise in using data analysis software like SQL, R, Python, or other relevant tools to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling inspections of incoming raw and auxiliary materials; record and archive the data.
• Perform reliability testing as per the inspection plan; track the experimental process, provide feedback on results, and maintain records and reports.
• Organize, archive, and update test records, reports, and methods; assist QA specialists with quarterly document reviews.
• Follow laboratory management protocols; perform routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration of testing equipment.
• Implement the laboratory’s 6S management system; address review and audit findings; implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Oversee the storage, labeling, and inventory of laboratory consumables; update the consumables ledger.
• Operate testing machines proficiently and stay updated on testing methods and standards; participate in training and assessments.
• Identify and propose job improvement projects; collaborate with other departments on improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with management system regulations and standards; implement corrective actions after audits.
• Participate in training sessions and team-building activities to enhance professional skills.
