Job summary

3M is seeking a Quality Technician to join our Cottage Grove, MN team. You will set up and operate quality testing equipment, perform QC measurements with disposition, and communicate results to engineers.

The role requires attention to detail and flexibility to support varying shifts and testing assignments. Preferred candidates have related education and 1 year of manufacturing or lab experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and improve processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher required; related associates degree a plus.
• 1 year of combined experience in manufacturing, pilot plant and/or lab environment.
• Associates degree or higher preferred; 3+ years in high-volume manufacturing desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving/analysis skills to operate and troubleshoot equipment and improve processes.
• Experience with quality control procedures, testing and reporting; familiarity with production reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate quality testing equipment.
• Perform QC measurements with disposition.
• Communicate results to quality and manufacturing engineers.
• Identify quality related issues and assist with MSA studies.
• Maintain records of quality related testing and documentation.
• Support experiments and scale-up manufacturing under supervision.
• Adapt to varying work shifts and testing assignments.
