Job summary

Chicago Tube & Iron is seeking a Quality Technician to support Production, Engineering, and Quality from planning through production. The role focuses on developing quality documentation and inspection processes for both value-added and fabricated parts, and performing in-process and final inspections to ensure conformance.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality documentation and inspection processes for value-added and fabricated parts.
• Create process inspection sheets and balloon drawings for first-article and in-process inspections.
• Partner with the New Products Manager to support PPAPs, PFMEAs, process flows, and control plans.
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections to verify products meet specifications.
• Perform inspections using a portable CMM, including developing CMM programs when needed.
• Inspect outsourced parts and document/report nonconforming material.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions across manufacturing processes.
• Analyze process and quality data using statistical tools to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
