Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Quality Tech to support manufacturing operations with quality disciplines, processes and tools. The role focuses on risk mitigation, error proofing and problem solving to ensure products meet customer needs and expectations.

You will work with the Quality team to improve processes, collect data, perform capability studies, and lead inspections and audits. Strong communication, math skills, and familiarity with engineering drawings are essential.

Qualifications

  • 4 years' manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications programs -- Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Competent in basic Mathematics and English.
  • High School degree or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Problem Solving experience preferred (8D, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Understand basics engineering concepts, fit, form, and function.
  • Must have both good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have analytical skills and be able to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and engineering drawings is required.
  • Experience reading and using a variety of precision measuring instruments preferred.
  • Must be able to direct and influence the actions of others within areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and promotes the safety objectives of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and training in supporting the Quality system.
  • Assist the manufacturing team in improving quality and mistake proofing processes.
  • Collect data, perform capability studies/reports, interpret charts and solve problems.
  • Support a variety of manufacturing operations using quality tools and techniques.
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts/hours as required.
  • Data collection, and documentation support.
  • Process Audits.
  • Manage measurement and test equipment and calibration databases.
  • Conduct PPAP functional and dimensional trials.
  • Processing nonconforming material and receiving inspection.
  • Work with engineers and shop personnel to ensure procedures meet specs.
  • Question sub-standard conditions to continually improve quality.
  • Respond to inspection requests with urgency; document and conclude actions.
  • Familiarize with ASME Code and 3-A Sanitary Standards.
  • May train, lead, and direct others.
  • Follow up on nonconformities to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain inspection records and test certifications.
  • Suggest cost-effective improvements to quality.
