Job summary

Lumafield in Everett, MA is hiring a hands-on Quality Technician to ensure the quality of materials and assemblies for our industrial CT scanners. You will focus on incoming material inspection, SCAR processing, and investigating quality issues on the production floor.

You will work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to document problems, contain affected material, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence and keep production moving.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or hands-on manufacturing role.
• Read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions and evaluate parts against acceptance criteria.
• Document defects, measurements, and investigation findings with descriptions and photos.
• Organize daily inspection priorities and follow up on open quality issues and supplier actions.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets and digital systems to record inspection results and track quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection plans using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools; record results and verify supplier documentation.
• Investigate in-process quality issues by inspecting affected parts, gathering measurements and photos, and working with production technicians and Engineering to determine root cause and support corrective actions.
• Process Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs): document defects and evidence, coordinate with Supply Chain and suppliers, track responses and due dates, verify corrective actions before closure.
• Identify, label, and segregate nonconforming material; maintain nonconformance records; coordinate disposition with authorized team members.
• Maintain inspection records and quality logs; flag recurring defects; help improve inspection instructions and checks in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering.
