Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Quality Technician to uphold high safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate has a steady work history and experience with measuring tools and NCR/8D processes.

You will collaborate with engineering, production and vendors to ensure products meet specifications, document issues, and drive corrective actions. A high school diploma is required, and proficiency with Word and Excel is desired.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience using measuring tools to perform in-depth quality checks.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a member of a team in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and measure or test product to determine conformance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to interact with multiple people at different levels to resolve quality issues.
• Must act in the best interest of Vertiv to clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity.
• Utilize the NCR process and 8D approach to building quality into the processes including internal audits of daily activities to identify non-conformances.
• Initiate, manage by priority, and close out NCRs.
• Escalate repeated non-conformances or advanced problems to QA Engineers.
• Ensure a quality product passes through all stations.
• Identify opportunities to build quality into products and processes.
• Work with engineering, production, safety, and vendors to ensure product compliance.
• Drive COPQ reduction through improvements.
• Support Quality Engineering with root-cause investigation and corrective actions.
• Update customer issue responses in customer portals or NCR systems.
