Job summary

Atlas Machine and Supply in Louisville, KY is seeking a Quality Technician to perform manual inspections, maintain calibration systems, and support shop-floor quality documentation. You will read blueprints/GD&T, use micrometers and Faro Arm for dimensional checks, and help ensure parts meet specifications while contributing to continuous improvement.

The role offers a salary of $60,000 to $65,000 per year and room for growth into more advanced quality positions based on performance and interest.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical/vocational machining preferred.
• 2–3 years in a machine shop with quality focus.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and mechanical inspection tools.
• Willingness to learn ISO 9001 and QMS procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate cranes safely.

Responsibilities

• Determine inspection approach based on job requirements and tolerances.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using hand gauges and measuring tools.
• Conduct NDT such as hardness checks and roughness assessment as needed.
• Read blueprints and GD&T to determine inspection methods.
• Document results and nonconformances; maintain records.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to interpret requirements.
