Job summary

Hypertherm is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician for its OMAX Waterjet team in Kent, WA. You’ll perform measurements, calibrations, audits, and support troubleshooting under senior guidance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and lean events.

The role emphasizes strong documentation, teamwork, and effective communication, with a base expectation of a high school diploma or GED and 18+ years of age.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 18 years or older
• Accurate and well-organized work, good documentation, attention to detail, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively when relaying technical information
• Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment
• Demonstrated competence in the use of quality procedures, measurement/tools systems, and print reading
• CNC Machining or Assembly Experience
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Principals

Responsibilities

• Perform activities such as measurement, inspection, gauge tracking, calibrations, audits, and troubleshooting
• Communicate effectively to internal customers
• Understand and apply basic quality tools (5Why, Pareto Analysis, Check Sheets, etc.)
• Perform tasks using basic skills in mathematics, metrology, calibration, and quality
• Provide support to other Associates in gauge/instrument use, troubleshooting, and repair
• Be an active part of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen, 3P, and other lean events
• Perform tasks following the control of non-conforming material process

Our Waterjet team in Kent, Washington is seeking a detail-oriented, technically inclined, and motivated individual who is eager to grow as a Quality Technician. With guidance from senior Quality Technicians, you will perform inspections and audits, use and calibrate gauges, and support troubleshooting activities. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, learn and adapt quickly, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Experience that differentiates you:

• Associate’s Degree or certification in related field (Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, Precision Machining/CNC Technology, etc.)
• Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
• CMM/PCDMIS programming/troubleshooting experience is heavily preferred
• CQT or CQI Certification
• Proficiency with interpreting standards (Y14.5M)
• Ability to train and mentor others
• Solidworks experience

This is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.

Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
