Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Technician for First Quality Products located in McElhattan, Pennsylvania. The role involves performing confirmatory and special laboratory testing of products and providing analytical support for quality assurance functions throughout all aspects of company operations.
Responsibilities
- Correctly perform and understand quality testing requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
- Follow existing procedures applying to the Quality System.
- Perform testing on production samples at specified sampling frequencies.
- Enter required test results into the Quality Data System.
- Report test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner and assist in correcting undesired quality situations.
- Assist in preparing and providing materials, chemicals, equipment, and documents needed for performing quality functions.
- Perform special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls & returned goods).
- Complete assigned reports and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.
- Verify lab equipment is working within acceptable tolerances.
- Verify data within the quality data system.
- Observe all safety rules and always use the proper safety equipment.
- Perform other duties as necessary when directed.
- Follow necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/QSR, etc.) preferred.
- Standard knowledge of computers and basic office software.
- Math skills including algebra required; statistics knowledge a plus.
- Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and good verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-pace environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two or more years of experience in a quality position preferred.
Work Environment
Work in an environment with potential exposure to dust during certain tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional sitting during a 12-hour shift.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending over throughout shift.
- Frequent pushing with arms and legs throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting or carrying of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Constant use of hands during shift.
- Frequent light and strong grasping during shift.
- Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
- Required participation in a daily pre-shift warm-up routine.
