Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, testing, or inspection preferred.
• Basic ability to read mechanical drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and checklists.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly, piping systems, structural steel, equipment installation, hardware, bolting, and torque requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, dependability, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per established inspection points and checklists.
• Verify components against approved drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.
• Inspect structural steel, equipment supports, pumps, valves, tanks, piping systems, and related mechanical components.
• Verify equipment placement, orientation, mounting, alignment, level, clearances, and assembly completeness.
• Inspect piping connections, gaskets, fittings, supports, bolting, torque, and torque marks.
• Confirm correct bolts, nuts, washers, gaskets, and other hardware are installed.
• Verify pressure tests, leak tests, cleaning, and other mechanical checks have been completed and documented.
• Inspect equipment and components for damage before, during, and after assembly.
• Verify piping systems and mechanical equipment are clean and debris-free.
• Use torque wrenches, measuring tapes, levels, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Complete inspection records with traceability to the inspected unit.
• Identify, document, and mark nonconforming or rejected product.
• Support containment by checking similar conditions on other components or units.
• Verify corrections and disposition open nonconformances before final acceptance.
• Inspect multiple units while maintaining quality and documentation accuracy.
• Report results with accuracy, objectivity, and integrity regardless of production schedules.
• Communicate findings and risks clearly to the appropriate personnel.

The position follows established inspection points and checklists to verify that structural assemblies, equipment, piping systems, hardware, and completed work meet approved drawings, bills of material, work instructions, internal standards, and customer requirements.

What you will do?

• Perform incoming, in-process, and/or final inspections of assigned mechanical equipment and components according to established inspection points and checklists.
• Verify components, equipment, materials, and hardware against approved drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and specifications.
• Inspect structural steel, equipment supports, pumps, valves, tanks, piping systems, and related mechanical components.
• Verify equipment placement, orientation, mounting, alignment, level, clearances, and assembly completeness.
• Inspect flanged and threaded piping connections, gaskets, fittings, supports, bolting, specified torque, and required torque marks.
• Confirm that the correct bolts, nuts, washers, gaskets, and other hardware are installed.
• Verify that pressure tests, leak tests, cleaning, and other required mechanical checks have been completed and documented by the responsible function.
• Inspect equipment and components for damage before, during, and after assembly.
• Verify that piping systems and mechanical equipment are clean and free of debris or foreign material.
• Use torque wrenches, measuring tapes, levels, calipers, gauges, and other approved inspection tools.
• Complete inspection checklists and records accurately and maintain traceability to the inspected unit.
• Identify, document, and clearly mark nonconforming or rejected product to prevent unintended use, continued processing, or release.
• Support containment by checking whether similar conditions are present on other components, assemblies, or units.
• Verify corrections and confirm that open nonconformances are resolved or formally dispositioned before final acceptance.
• Inspect multiple assigned units while maintaining inspection quality and documentation accuracy.
• Perform inspections and report results with accuracy, objectivity, and integrity, regardless of production schedules or delivery pressure.
• Communicate inspection findings, nonconformances, and product risks clearly and promptly to the appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years of manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, testing, or inspection experience preferred.
• Relevant mechanical product or assembly experience may be considered when formal inspection experience is limited.
• Basic ability to read mechanical drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and inspection checklists.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly, piping systems, structural steel, equipment installation, hardware, bolting, and torque requirements.
• Ability to use common mechanical measuring and inspection equipment.
• Ability to recognize visible defects, equipment damage, incorrect components, incomplete work, and poor workmanship.
• Ability to complete accurate inspection records and maintain product traceability.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, dependability, and safety awareness.
• Ability to perform routine inspections independently and request assistance when requirements are unclear.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or trade-school training in mechanical systems, piping, welding, fabrication, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers to access drawings and documentation, complete inspection records, and communicate inspection results preferred.
