Job summary

Behr Paint Company in Heath, OH is seeking a Quality Technician I to support manufacturing and quality operations by preparing and testing paint samples to ensure products meet quality standards and drive improvements. No extensive lab experience is required; we provide full training on equipment, procedures, and SAP.

You will perform tests such as viscosity, gloss, density, pH, and scrub testing, record results, and maintain documentation for team evaluation.

Job description

To thrive as a Quality Technician I at Behr, you should be detail oriented and eager to learn. In this role, you'll support manufacturing and quality operations by preparing and testing paint samples to ensure products meet quality control standards and drive improvements. No extensive lab experience is required. We provide full training on equipment, procedures, and systems!


Each day, you'll receive assignments related to quality checks, raw materials, or product improvement projects. You'll prepare and analyze samples using lab equipment and perform tests such as viscosity, gloss, density, pH, and scrub testing. You'll accurately record results, compare samples, and maintain documentation so teams can evaluate product performance.


You'll also report any equipment or process issues and help keep the lab clean and organized by maintaining supplies, cleaning equipment, and supporting basic lab tasks.

  • Strong organization and communication skills. You'll work closely with supervisors and team members while documenting results and maintaining clear records.


  • Basic computer and technical skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software and experience with SAP is a plus.


  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • A Quality Technician I starts at $22.00/hr. Team members will receive a $0.50/hr increase at 6 months of employment and another $0.50/hr increase at one year of employment.
