Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is seeking a Quality Technician I for 1st and 2nd shift at the Coxsackie, NY facility. You will support multi-shift, high-volume production with data collection, process monitoring, and corrective actions to drive quality improvement.

You will conduct audits, support root cause analysis, and maintain quality metrics while training plant staff on QMS and TQM concepts to uphold safety and product standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical quality support for multi-shift, high volume production facility.
• Foster safety culture and implement safety policies per OSHA regulations.
• Perform audits of the quality management system and processes.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain line quality metrics and participate in quality reviews.

What You'll Do:

• Provide technical quality support for multi-shift, high volume production facility. Support building a customer focused quality culture through data collection, process monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• You will foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries.
• Perform audits of the quality management system; perform process and product audits
• Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain line quality metrics and dashboard and participate in quality reviews
• Monitor and review CTQ / SPC / Error Proofing Controls at every level
• Collect, analyze, and report data and participate in improvement projects
• Assist with training the plant associates in the QMS and TQM principles
• Review and report supplier quality issues; review/manage/escalate supplier RCA/corrective actions.
• Participate in plant trials, write reports and generate improvement ideas
• Support the overall continual improvement of quality effort for the site to drive increasing quality performance with the customer
• Participate and support SSB corporate quality initiatives
• Process Control (SPC, Error Proofing, Monitoring, Process Improvement)
• Knowledge of basic measuring tools (Caliper, tape measurer, carpenter’s square)
• Auditing (execution, reporting, corrective action)

What You'll Bring:

Required

• HS diploma or GED
• One to three years in manufacturing
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be at least 18 years or older

Preferred

• Associates degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Statistics, Engineering, Business or other
• One year in a Quality role
• Lean training / certification
• Have or be prepared to work towards Certified Six Sigma Yellow / Green Belt

Compensation: $20.00-$26.00 (Varies based on relevant experience) - Second Shift Differential: $2.00
