Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC is seeking an experienced Lean/CI leader to drive multi-plant improvement initiatives across our manufacturing network. You will lead Kaizen events, develop standard work, and mentor CI managers while aligning with strategic priorities.

The role emphasizes deployment of Lean content, Value Stream Mapping, and SQDCP metric improvement, with a strong focus on data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, or operations, with multi-site responsibility preferred.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black or equivalent desired.
  • Experience training and mentoring leaders in Lean techniques.
  • Experience in mattress manufacturing or similar industry preferred.
  • Proven experience leading network-wide Lean transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts and tools (5S, value stream mapping, line balancing, visual workplace, flow and pull manufacturing, pareto analysis, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment and sustainment of Lean and SSPS programs across all plants.
  • Develop content in Lean and mattress manufacturing; train and coach CI Managers, plant leadership, and other operational teams.
  • Analyze plant processes to identify, standardize, and deploy best practices network-wide.
  • Assist CI Managers with Value Stream Mapping and Bedding Assessments to identify opportunities.
  • Identify, justify, and lead cost-saving initiatives at scale.
  • Lead Kaizen activities and continuous improvement projects; drive problem-solving and corrective action.
  • Drive Daily Management Rhythm (DMR) compliance network-wide.
  • Implement corporate initiatives to improve SQDCP metrics.
  • Develop and update Standard Work as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

Program & Project Management
  • Lead and support strategic projects and initiatives that impact multiple plants.
  • Manage network-wide Kaizen roadmaps and improvement plans.
  • Track, monitor, and report on project status and effectiveness using KPIs.
  • Support senior leadership with strategic planning and execution.
Standardization & Best Practice Deployment
  • Document and deploy best practices across all sites.
  • Develop the Bedding Assessment process to ensure standardization and compliance across the network.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to drive standardization that yields SQDCP improvements and standardization.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with plant leadership, CI Managers, and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Present improvement initiatives, results, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Network with other plants and external partners to leverage new ideas and innovations.
Agility & Change Management
  • Adapt to evolving business priorities.
  • Develop and champion new ideas for continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
