Job summary

The Quality Technician at Baker Manufacturing Company, LLC in Evansville, WI performs precision dimensional inspections, programs and operates CMMs, and supports calibration and root-cause investigations for the water pump product lines. This role bridges hands-on inspection work with technical support under the guidance of the Quality Manager.

The position collaborates with engineers and the Quality Manager, maintains inspection reports and GD&T-based plans, and helps ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection and dimensional metrology.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• CMM programming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision dimensional inspections using manual and automated measurement tools.
• Independently program and operate CMMs for part validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. (MCOSMOS and CALYPSO)
• Lead calibration program and ensure measurements are traceable.
• Inspect customer returns in water pump lines; document findings and assist with root-cause investigation.
• Develop and maintain inspection reports, instructions, and visual aids for operators and assembly personnel.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T and customer specs, to develop inspection plans.
• Maintain inspection records, calibration logs, and test documentation per quality system.
• Assist engineers with data collection, failure mode identification, and test setup for performance evaluation of returned products.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor supplier certifications, raw materials, and outsourced processing for compliance.
• Participate in internal audits and corrective action initiatives.
