Job summary

Atlas Copco Compressors LLC in Houston, TX, seeks a Quality Technician to ensure product quality from receiving to final verification. You will perform dimensional, visual, and non-destructive inspections, work with suppliers, and lead corrective actions in collaboration with the Quality Manager.

You will document nonconformances, support calibration and metrology, and help maintain ISO certifications while promoting a safety-first culture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting detailed blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, thread pitch gauges).
• Self-motivated with reliable, organized, proactive communication.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts if required.
• Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with QMS software.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout, dimensional measurements, and visual inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to identify deviations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to conduct quality audits and provide feedback and reporting.
• Support production teams by addressing inspection-related issues with technical guidance.
• Document and track quality nonconformance using corrective action systems.
• Lead root cause analyses and participate in failure investigations for corrective actions.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with policies.
• Conduct process and safety audits across assembly lines and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to ISO-certified quality management system procedures and maintenance.
• Manage calibration, certification, and maintenance of metrology instruments with traceability.
• Support Energy Management System (EnMS) initiatives for energy reduction goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on projects to promote operational excellence.
