Job summary

Prysmian Group in Lincoln, RI seeks a Quality Technician for the 3rd shift to oversee testing of compounds, wire, and cable assemblies in both manufacturing and laboratory environments.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support the QMS under ISO 9001, assist with corrective actions, train associates on inspection equipment, and coordinate actions with suppliers and customers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Min of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with wire and cable is a plus.
  • Quality systems auditing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production processes and inspections align with QMS requirements.
  • Assist with complaint analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support Continuous Improvement, Safety and 6S events.
  • Assist in changeovers, start-ups, and conducting process audits.
  • Train associates on inspection equipment, data entry and testing.

This position supports the Quality Engineer and Manager to implement and maintain the Quality Management System per ISO 9001.**Shift:** 3rd Shift - Monday through Friday from 11:00pm to 7:00am**Pay Rate:** $30.50 per hour**Principle Functional Responsibilities:**Ensure that all production processes and inspection activities align with the requirements outlined by the QMS. Assist with complaint analysis and corrective actions. Support Continuous Improvement projects, Safety, and 6S events. Support production through assisting in changeovers, start-ups, and performing Process Audits. Train associates how to use inspection equipment, enter data and perform required testing. Coordinate corrective actions as directed by the Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager. Interact with customer visits (offsite or onsite) as needed. Interact with suppliers as needed for audits, certifications and purchased material concerns. Perform other duties as directed by Quality Manager.**Key Requirements:**Experienced with Wire and Cable testing, Electrical and Mechanical testing. Ability to work as an individual or as a team. Capable of multi-tasking. Technologically savvy; strong computer skills. Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment. Must be able to drive projects.
