Job description

Custom Wire Technologies (CWT) is a leading OEM medical component manufacturer with over 50 years of industry experience. Our services include wire coiling, grinding, forming, custom fine wire design, fine wire welding, laser processing, and manufacturing process validation. We are seeking a skilled individual with great attention to detail to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards in product quality.

OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will support our quality control processes. This role is critical in ensuring that products meet customer specifications and internal and external standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection, testing, and documentation. The position requires inspection of parts and assemblies, utilizing precision measuring instruments and gauges as inspection tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inspections of incoming materials, first pieces, in-process production, and finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications; complete all required records and paperwork, including inspection reports.
  • Assist in developing quality and inspection plans from design drawings, meeting company requirements for ISO 13485.
  • Program and operate vision system inspection machines; utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and gauges.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints.
  • Determine gauge and fixture requirements.
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing process or method issues affecting quality.
  • Support the enforcement of the Quality System and maintain consistent standards.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Identify Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations and ensure adherence.
  • Conduct one-on-one training on quality procedures.
  • Recognize, report, and correct errors.
  • Maintain regular physical attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related quality and manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and reading technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Ability to develop and write work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Quality certification or associate degree in Quality.
  • Experience with Keyence, Micro Vu systems.
  • Prior quality experience in medical device manufacturing.
  • Experience in a job shop manufacturing environment.

JOB HOURS:

The position primarily occurs during the second shift (2 pm to 10 pm, Monday to Friday). The manufacturing floor operates three shifts: 1st (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), 2nd (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), and 3rd (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). Overtime and work outside regular hours may occasionally be required. Travel is not necessary.
