Job summary

Milwaukee Tool, a leader in the construction-tools industry, is seeking a Quality Technician II on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3:00-11:00pm) to ensure products meet exact standards and drive a robust quality culture. You will perform daily process audits, operate CMM/VMM, read blueprints, document inspections, and mentor junior technicians while communicating across shifts.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of quality experience or 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use metrology equipment.

  • Perform daily audits of manufacturing processes to ensure product conformance.
  • Operate CMM/VMM measuring machines and handheld devices to support metrology needs.
  • Create quality documentation: inspections, NCMRs, quality alerts.

The Quality Technician will demonstrate the ability to put people and process first at all times to ensure Milwaukee Tool’s unwavering devotion to a robust quality culture. This position is the standard bearer for who we are and the obsession we have with being the market leader. A Quality Technician is charged with overseeing the quality, safety, productivity, and training linked within their assigned team. The ability to effectively communicate to the team is crucial to the continued success and development of the personnel and equipment managed. Through resourcing of timely product inspections, and directing of plant quality technicians, the Quality Technician II position is tasked with the short- and long-term success of the Manufacturing Quality Team.Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 3:00-11:00pmYou’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Key contributor of the manufacturing quality assurance organization by performing daily audits of the manufacturing process to ensure all products and processes are abiding by the specifications and standards set by the leadership teamsUser of test lab equipment such as tensile/torsion testers, hardness testers, metallurgical equipment (cut/mount/polish, optical and stereo microscopes), and other various test equipmentOperate CMM and VMM measuring machines and user of handheld devices such as calipers, micrometers, height/snap/pin gauges and other various devices to support metrology needsInitiate Quality System documentation, such as Inspections, Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR’s), quality alertsContribute to the creation of work instructionsComplete dimensional inspections of incoming raw materialAbility to navigate document repository web page to locate inspection reports, blueprints and other quality documentsParticipate in gage R&R studies as neededMentor Quality Technician I personnel and provide guidance to manufacturing operatorsEffectively communicate across shifts and weekend work within internal teams and cross-functional teamsSupport Operator instruction/ training on new procedures or techniquesPerform basic math; fraction to decimal conversion, arithmetic and units of measure conversion, and basic statisticsConsciously abide by all safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environmentOther duties as assignedThe TOOLS you’ll bring with you:High School or GED diploma2+ years of previous quality experience or 5+ years of manufacturing experienceBasic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Microsoft OutlookExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to navigate technology such as computer, tablet and printer systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to read blueprintsProblem solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage interruptionsProven hands-on skills and ability to follow detailed instructions is a huge plusOther TOOLS we prefer you to have:Understanding of metrology fundamentals, GD&TWe provide these great perks and benefits:Robust health, dental and vision insurance plansGenerous 401 (K) savings planEducation assistanceOn-site food and coffee serviceAnd many more, check out our benefits site HEREMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
