Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Engineering Technician II to join our Brookfield, WI team. You will support R&D and NPD by operating test equipment, running procedures, and preparing reports.

The role emphasizes precision, safety, and collaboration with engineers and senior technicians to help develop best-in-class products.

Qualifications

  • One to five years of experience with test equipment and mechanical testing procedures.
  • Technology-related associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Basic electronics understanding (AC/DC, motors, sensors, controllers) expected.
  • Knowledge of test concepts in product development is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute tests per work instructions and procedures.
  • Prepare reports using PC software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Operate test equipment and fixtures to support R&D/NPD activities.
  • Assist senior technicians on complex tests and calibrations.
  • Maintain equipment and fixtures, ensure calibration and safety.

T he Engineering Technician II plays a crucial role in providing innovative solutions to some of the most challenging testing requirements in industry that support our product development teams. T he role will operate custom test equipment and other systems in support of R&D and NPD activities. The role will ensure testing is reliable, effective, and efficien t.You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Execute tests per work instructions and request procedures.Prepare reports utilizing a PC with word processing, database, spreadsheet and statistical/graphical softwarePerform hands-on testing using power tools and accessoriesPerform preventative equipment maintenance and repairs of test equipmentSet up and verify the effectiveness of fixtures. Project execution and job progress to completion.Assist senior t echnicians in critical and involved tests or run such tests under supervision.Agility to work on multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency and organizationMaintain test equipment in good working order and in calibration .Propose recommendations to the Accessories Engineering team based off the data collected.Provide support to the engineering team in the design and build of test fixtures.Exercise responsibility for thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy in preparing and reviewing technical reports on tests performed.Follow 5S principles and maintain a clean and organized working environmentMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedCheck availability of inventoried materials and tools for testing, submit purchase orders if necessaryThe TOOLS you’ll bring with you:Flexible schedule to support testing outside the normal shift and weekends when neededProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently is required.Must have previous experience using power tools.Knowledge of test concepts in the design and development of products and components is preferred.Technology related associate degree (Such as Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automation Systems Technology, etc.) or equivalent is required.One to five years of experience with test equipment, product life / performance test procedures & methods, and mechanical principles are required.Basic electronics understanding – AC/DC circuits, motors, sensors, controllers is required.Understanding of common machine component applications and assembly is preferred.Experience working with SOMAT eDAQ and nCode Glyphworks is preferred, but not required.Basic machining skills are preferred, but not required.Working Conditions:Office EnvironmentOur Perks and Benefits:Robust health, dental and vision insurance plansGenerous 401 (K) savings planEducation assistanceOn-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee serviceAnd many more, check out our benefits site HEREMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
