Job summary

Multimatic New Haven in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Quality Technician for 2nd shift to support quality assurance on automotive structural parts. You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, and participate in audits and root-cause analysis to resolve non-conformances.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in quality within an automotive/mfg environment. On-site position with opportunity to grow within a state-of-the-art facility.

Audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects of the quality policy. Should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** GD&T – Must be able to read, interpret and understand blue prints* General understanding & knowledge of production processes and how parts are produced, and how characteristics impact downstream customers* Hold non-conforming materials (use inventory management)* Sort through non-conforming material as necessary to aid in disposition* File and maintain in-process inspection reports* Assist Quality Engineers in performing capability studies, gauge R&R’s and analyzing process variances* Assist with running any extra testing required as part of validation process after quarantine* Problem solve and work with operations on shift to determine root cause of material on hold, and make the appropriate changes to limit the amount of material placed on hold* Perform control plan audits.
