Amsted Automotive Group, SMW Manufacturing in Taylor, Michigan, is seeking a Quality Technician to inspect and verify product quality, perform dimensional checks, ensure calibration of measurement equipment, and confirm conformance to customer, engineering, and quality requirements. You will support production, calibration, setups, layouts, and customer returns with accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work well in a team with a strong work history.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and burrs and tag defective items.
• Compare product with parts list or sample model to ensure assembly completeness.
• Verify specified dimensions of product or material.
• Reject defective parts and mark type of defect on part, container or inspection tag.
• Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
• Select products for tests at specified stages and test for various qualities.
• Operate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job.
• Take directions and perform other duties as assigned.
