Job summary

Applied Composites is seeking a Quality Inspector 1 (Testing) to support the preparation and bonding of test coupons for aerospace-grade composite structures. The role focuses on inspecting soldered connections and assemblies, and performing measurements with calipers/micrometers in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of experience, are capable of using test fixtures, and can lift up to 50 pounds. ITAR considerations and a supportive benefits package accompany this position.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to learn and follow step-by-step instructions.
  • Ability to measure with calipers and micrometer.
  • Ability to use test fixtures and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine visual inspections of soldered connections and mechanical assemblies.
  • Use fixtures to accurately prepare and bond test coupons.
  • Use bandsaws and surface grinders.
  • Perform dimensional measurements.
  • Monitor thermal cycling.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Quality Inspector 1 (Testing) who will be responsible for focusing primarily on preparation and bond work of test coupons. This position is responsible for preparation and testing of composite test specimens to support the manufacture of aerospace and space-based composite structures.

Job Accountabilities
  • Performs routine visual inspection of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro‑mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
  • Use fixtures to accurately prepare and bond test coupons
  • Use bandsaws and surface grinders
  • Perform dimensional measurements
  • Monitor thermal cycling
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Years’ Experience: 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to learn and follow specific step‑by‑step instructions
  • Ability to make accurate measurements using calipers, micrometer, analytical balance
  • Ability to use test fixtures
