Job summary

Applied Composites Inc. is seeking a Production Assembler 1 to perform routine assembly of small parts under clear instructions. You will use light tools, sandblast parts, and ensure parts meet specifications while preparing composites for paint and other departments.

The role requires basic shop skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety policies. This entry-level position supports a manufacturing team in aerospace-grade composite production.

Qualifications

  • Secondary certificate or high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to use basic shop tools and safety procedures.
  • Capable of basic mathematics and measurement accuracy.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Use basic shop tools such as sanders, grinders and drill motors.
  • Measure parts with calipers, scales and micrometers to verify dimensions.
  • Document materials used to maintain traceability.
  • Work at a fast pace while ensuring accuracy.
  • Sandblast parts with minimal scrap or errors.
  • Follow LEAN manufacturing principles and safety policies.
  • Wear required PPE when working with chemicals.
  • Assist with laminating composite materials as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Production Assembler 1 to perform a range of routine assembly operations of small parts or components, under well‑defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures. This individual uses light powered electrical or mechanical tools, including hand tools, in the construction of subassemblies. Works with the assembly team to sandblast parts with minimal effort, fit and align and/or adjust parts to meet specifications and requirements, some prep of composite parts for paint department necessary. Must be able to work with shop tools and equipment used in composite layup and assembly.

Job Accountabilities
  • Ability to use basic shop tools such as sanders, grinders and drill motors

Job Specifications

Education: Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Years’ Experience: 0–2 years of relevant work experience.

Skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery
  • Capable of performing basic mathematics
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
  • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
  • Able to problem‑solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in laminating Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composite material preferred
