Job summary

Amcor is seeking a QA/Quality Inspector to support plastic film production, performing in-process and final quality checks, documenting results, and ensuring product conformance to specifications. You will calibrate inspection equipment, assist with root-cause investigations, train operators on quality standards, and uphold Amcor’s safety and ISO 9001 practices across the line.

  • Support internal audits and ISO9001 documentation.

Provides general labor support in the production of plastic film by assisting with machine operation, material handling, quality checks, and packaging. Ensures production runs efficiently by supporting the operator and maintaining proper workflow, organization, and safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

Actively puts safety first in all responsibilities, promoting Amcor’s safety culture. Performs in-process and final quality inspections on assigned lines, verifying product conformance to customer specifications and quality standards. Conducts testing using established methods and equipment, including gauge/thickness measurement, seal integrity, print registration, and contamination checks. Documents inspection and test results accurately in quality systems and logs; flags non‑conforming product and initiates hold procedures. Communicates quality issues and conditions that adversely affect quality or throughput to Production Supervisors and the QA Manager in real time. Supports root cause investigations and corrective actions for internal non‑conformances and customer complaints. Calibrates and maintains quality inspection equipment according to established schedules. Reviews and verifies incoming raw material quality against specifications as needed. Supports internal audits and maintains documentation required for ISO9001 compliance. Trains and provides guidance to production operators on basic quality checks and standards.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and stacking of rolls and materials
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and movement
  • Ability to push/pull and handle materials during production and packaging
  • Ability to climb stairs and move between work areas
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong understanding of production process and how to correct quality issues on line
  • Basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of all QA software
  • Ability to understand written work instructions and use lab equipment
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
  • Good understanding of overall plant operations
