Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a Quality Technician I–III to support the parts quality process across the facility in Wisconsin. You will partner with internal business units to ensure precision and inspection of parts entering the operation, and you will support Quality Management Systems with data collection, reporting and analysis.

You will lead problem solving, implement countermeasures, and drive process improvements to sustain quality across production.

Qualifications

  • Basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Basic drawing, wiring, and schematic interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads problem solving resulting in effective countermeasures to quality issues.
  • Implements resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems.
  • Implements process improvements to continuously improve quality.
  • Leads team in adherence and improvement to Quality Control Plans and mistake proofing.
  • Conducts process and product audits to ensure SOPs and quality standards are followed.
  • Supports facility in gage/tool calibration and GR&R.
  • Participates in MRB review and corrective actions.

In partnership with internal business units, this role ensures the precision and inspection of parts moving into the facility. This role supports Quality Management Systems, drives data collection, reporting and analysis. Partners with leaders in the daily operation of an area with responsibility to improve quality systems, processes, and performance.Major ResponsibilitiesLeads problem solving resulting in effective countermeasures to quality issuesImplements resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutionsImplements process improvements to continuously improve qualityLeads team in adherence and improvement to Quality Control Plans and mistake proofingConducts process and product audits to ensure team members are following standardized operating procedures and adhering to all quality standardsAble to conduct standardized problem-solving process and implement corrective actions to resolve design, supplier, or production quality issuesSupports facility in gage/tool calibration and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)Adheres to all company policies, state, and federal regulations.Participate in MRB review and corrective actionsBasic Qualifications:Quality Technician IHigh School diploma or equivalent0-3 years of quality experienceQuality Technician II & IIIAssociates degree or 3+ years of quality experienceAdditional Qualifications:Has the ability to maintain a professional rapport with support groups and peers while achieving resultsLeads communication to team members reviewing achievement to quality metrics and progress of countermeasures/projectsSupports communication to Supervisor of issues impacting quality with appropriate countermeasures.Ability to perform reading, writing, and math functionsBasic drawing, wiring, and schematic interpretation skills.Intermediate PC knowledge.Intermediate knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control Plans, mistake proofing, Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and ISO Quality System processes.Knowledge in CMM programing and processes – Quality Technician II & IIIAbility to train others – Quality Technician II & IIIPreferred Qualifications:Quality Technician I – Associates degree and/or Certified Quality Technician preferred.Quality Technician II & III- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or Certified Quality TechnicianPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
