Job summary

Generac is hiring Quality Technician I–III to support parts quality throughout the facility. The role emphasizes problem solving, audits, and continuous improvement. Two-shift schedule runs 3:00 PM–1:30 AM, with shift premium.

Candidates should have relevant education, grow with the QA team and contribute to ISO processes. Qualified applicants will participate in GR&R, gage calibration, PPAP, PFMEA and QC plan adherence, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to raise quality metrics

Qualifications

  • Quality Technician I requires a high school diploma or equivalent with basic quality problem solving.
  • Quality Technician II requires 3+ years in quality with demonstrated leadership and knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA.
  • Quality Technician III expects a Bachelor’s degree and advanced knowledge of QC tools and ISO processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead problem solving for quality issues and implement resolutions.
  • Conduct process and product audits and ensure adherence to QC plans.
  • Support gage calibration, GR&R and MRB actions.
  • Drive data collection, reporting and analysis to improve quality systems.
  • Collaborate with leaders to improve processes and performance.

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Quality Technician I: $24.25 + $2.50 shift premium = $26.75/hour

Quality Technician II: $27.25 + $2.50 shift premium = $29.75/hour

The Quality Technician is responsible for facilitating the parts quality process throughout the organization. In partnership with internal business units, this role ensures the precision and inspection of parts moving into the facility.

This role supports Quality Management Systems, drives data collection, reporting and analysis.

Partners with leaders in the daily operation of an area with responsibility to improve quality systems, processes, and performance.

Responsibilities (All Levels)
  • Lead problem solving for quality issues.
  • Implement resolutions from basic to complex problems.
  • Implement process improvements.
  • Lead team adherence to Quality Control Plans and mistake proofing.
  • Conduct process and product audits.
  • Conduct standardized problem-solving and corrective actions.
  • Support gage/tool calibration and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R).
  • Participate in MRB review and corrective actions.
  • Adhere to company policies and state/federal regulations.
Requirements

Quality Technician I Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: 0–3 years in quality Problem Solving: Basic Leadership: Supports team communication and metrics Technical Knowledge: Basic drawing, wiring, schematic interpretation; intermediate PC skills

Quality Technician II Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent Experience: 3+ years in quality Problem Solving: Moderate Leadership: Leads team communication on quality metrics and project countermeasures; ability to train others Technical Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Quality Control Plans, mistake proofing, NMR, ECR, SPC, ISO processes; CMM programming knowledge

Quality Technician III Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience: 5+ years in quality or Certified Quality Technician preferred Problem Solving: Advanced, including cross-functional issues Leadership: Leads multiple teams or departments; mentors and trains others Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of all QC tools, ISO systems, and process improvement methodologies; design audits and complex corrective actions

Additional Skills (All Levels)

Maintain professional rapport with peers and support groups Communicate issues and countermeasures to Supervisor Perform reading, writing, and math functions Commitment to continuous learning and quality standards

Physical Demands

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
