  • Understand how to read CMM Reports.
  • Use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and efficient measurement of parts.
  • Interpret CMM Reports and validate suspect measurements.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of product based on documented company specifications.
  • Perform work in accordance to established SPI's and Standard Work.
  • Participate in corrective and preventative actions.
  • Participate in structured problem solving for root cause evaluation.
  • Implement Lean Initiatives.
  • Complete First Article Inspections and Receiving Inspections.
  • Initiate Containment when Non-Conforming Material is found.
  • Participates in departmental projects, as needed.
  • Performs product and process inspections as directed.
  • Safety minded and upholds all requirements.
  • Other assigned duties according to business needs.

Qualifications/Skills
Desired
  • 2 year Associate's or technical degree
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and Datum Structures
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • CMM Programming a Plus
  • Understanding of Capability studies and Gage RR
Required
  • 5+ years related experience in a fast paced machining environment
  • Skilled in blueprint reading
  • Understand how to read and choose measurement devices
  • Understand how to read CMM Reports
  • Use of Microsoft Office
Working Conditions & Physical Factors
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs repetitive
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, machining oils/coolants from handling coated parts and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA's permissible levels of exposure.
  • Noise level could be loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs.
  • Normal noise exposure in the areas exposed to could range from 75-87 dBA; hearing protection is optional in these areas.
  • Close visual acuity to create/read schematics, drawings and/or a computer screen.
  • Willing to work in varying shop temperatures and humidity conditions.
