Job summary

In Austin, TX, Ingersoll Rand seeks a Quality Control Technician to inspect materials, components and processes, ensuring compliance with established quality and safety standards in our manufacturing environment.

You will calibrate and maintain inspection equipment, document testing data, and communicate any nonconformities. Two years of QC experience and ability to read blueprints are required; ISO 9001 familiarity is a plus. Competitive benefits offered.

  • Identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

Job Overview

The Quality Control Technician ensures that materials, components, processes, and equipment meet established quality and safety standards as defined in purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering documentation. This role requires a highly observant, detail-oriented, organized, and responsible individual who can perform accurate inspections, testing, data recording, and issue reporting to support overall product quality and operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials and finished goods.
  • Interpret test results and compare findings against established specifications and control limits.
  • Perform visual inspections and verify product conformity.
  • Calibrate, validate, and maintain inspection and testing equipment.
  • Document testing activities accurately and provide required quality control data.
  • Investigate, report, and elevate questionable or out-of-specification results.
  • Identify quality issues, troubleshoot equipment concerns, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Follow established stop-work guidelines and promptly communicate concerns when processes or products do not meet specifications.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of quality control experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use basic measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and operate new inspection or testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control tools and root-cause analysis methods.
