Basic Function

The Quality Technician is responsible for verifying the quality of all production by testing finished products, raw materials, and intermediates in accordance with customer standards and specifications. This role also involves verifying equipment cleanliness and the suitability of in-process testing equipment such as metal detectors, thermometers, and plasticity testers. Higher-level technicians will receive training and proficiency in additional skills as needed.

The Quality Technician works safely, following continuous training from LyondellBasell. The role reports to the Quality Manager and interfaces with plant supervisors and management. #LI-LL2

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of all finished products before shipment.
• Verify the quality of intermediate raw materials before use in production (see UR process).
• Communicate effectively with the Production Supervisor, Operators, and management regarding quality issues during your shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace per company policies.
• Coordinate with shift technicians on quality issues for shift hand-offs.
• Investigate and document out-of-control circumstances in the SPC program as they occur.
• Use specialized testing equipment correctly and safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic math and computer skills.
