Job summary

Reich Tool & Design in Wisconsin is seeking a Quality Technician to support aerospace and precision manufacturing. You will aid in inspection planning, program and operate CMM / Faro Arm, and interpret blueprints with GD&T.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong math, US citizenship, and readiness to work overtime in a team-driven environment committed to ISO 9001/13485 standards.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
  • US citizen status required.
  • Preferred knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in development of quality and inspection plans from design drawings and ISO requirements.
  • Program and operate CMM and Faro Arm to specifications.
  • Analyze blueprints including GD&T, determine gauge and fixture needs.
  • Inspect first piece, in-process, purchased parts and finished materials for conformance.
  • Document inspection records and non-conformances; support root-cause and corrective actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve processes and quality.

What You'll Do
  • Aid in development of quality and inspection plans from design drawings, meeting company requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 13485.
  • Program and operate CMM / Faro Arm to specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints to include noted specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Determine gauge and fixture requirements.
  • Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Test finished products for paint and plating, quality and thickness, dimensions, profile and appearance.
  • Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.
  • Perform process capability studies; recommend changes to improve quality.
  • Ensure product quality and deadlines are met.
  • Assist the organization in enforcing the Quality System and maintain consistent standards for RTD.
  • Identify Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality problems; ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
  • Coordinate and implement cost saving measures.
  • Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.
  • Ability to multi-task many jobs.
  • Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Recognize, report, and correct errors.
  • Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
  • Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
  • Regular physical attendance is required.
  • Travel, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • High school education or GED.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
  • Strong desire to learn new skillset: software, measuring tools, high-tech machines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Requirements:
  • Reverse engineering, Solid Modeling, CMM Programming knowledge.
  • Blueprint knowledge including GD&T.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft software.
  • Prior experience working with automotive, aerospace and medical industries.
  • Prior machining or CNC operation.
  • Experience working in a job shop manufacturing environment.
