Job summary

Reich Tool & Design is seeking a Quality Technician to develop quality and inspection plans from design drawings, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. You will program and operate CMM/Faro Arm, interpret GD&T specifications, and determine gauge and fixture needs.

The role requires strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task across multiple jobs while meeting customer timelines. Join a team focused on precision and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
  • Desire to learn new skills (software, measuring tools, high-tech machines).
  • U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in development of quality and inspection plans from design drawings to meet ISO 9001/13485.
  • Program and operate CMM / Faro Arm to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints including GD&T notes and tolerances.
  • Determine gauge and fixture requirements.
  • Inspect first piece, in-process, purchased parts and finished products for conformance.
  • Record inspection data and report results.
  • Analyze quality data and assist in resolving manufacturing issues.

What You’ll Do
  • Aid in development of quality and inspection plans from design drawings, meeting company requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 13485.
  • Program and operate CMM / Faro Arm to specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints to include noted specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Determine gauge and fixture requirements.
  • Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Test finished products for paint and plating, quality and thickness, dimensions, profile and appearance.
  • Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.
  • Perform process capability studies; recommend changes to improve quality.
  • Ensure product quality and deadlines are met.
  • Assist the organization in enforcing the Quality System and maintain consistent standards for RTD.
  • Identify Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality problems; ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
  • Coordinate and implement cost saving measures.
  • Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.
  • Ability to multi-task many jobs.
  • Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Recognize, report, and correct errors.
  • Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
  • Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
  • Regular physical attendance is required.
  • Travel, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school education or GED.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
  • Strong desire to learn new skillset: software, measuring tools, high-tech machines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Requirements:
  • Reverse engineering, Solid Modeling, CMM Programming knowledge.
  • Blueprint knowledge including GD&T.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft software.
  • Prior experience working with automotive, aerospace and medical industries.
  • Prior machining or CNC operation.
  • Experience working in a job shop manufacturing environment.

Competitive Pay
Hours: 1st Shift - Five 8-hour days - with overtime as needed
