Job summary

Charter Next Generation (CNG) in Green Bay, WI, seeks a Quality/Film Tester to inspect and ensure film quality for food, consumer, industrial, and healthcare markets. You will perform tests on emboss, width, tear, gloss, and more, operate packaging lines, and participate in our training program with 160 employee-owners.

The role requires 12-hour night shifts, lifting up to 65 pounds, and a readiness to learn within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read product specs and defect books to understand customer requirements.
• Experience with testing plastics and film quality testing steps is helpful.
• Comfort using measurement tools and basic calibration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate physical and visual properties of manufactured film to meet customer specs.
• Review product specs, item information, and defect books.
• Test film for emboss, width, tear and tensile, gloss, and other properties.
• Enter testing results into the production monitoring system.
• Calibrate and clean equipment; maintain labeling and sample retention.

The Role

You will operate state-of-the‑art printing presses to deliver high-quality printing and finishing services for film, paper, and specialty materials. Working alongside 160 employee‑owners in a collaborative environment, you’ll monitor production quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, and participate in our comprehensive training program while serving essential markets including food, consumer goods, industrial, and healthcare.

Schedule

Work only 15 days per month with our unique 2-2-3 schedule

• Work: Monday & Tuesday – Off: Wednesday & Thursday – Work: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
• Off: Monday & Tuesday – Work: Wednesday & Thursday – Off: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
• 12‑hour static shifts (Nights - 6:00pm – 6:00am)

What You'll Do

• Responsible for the evaluating the physical and visual properties of manufactured film to ensure customer requirements are met. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Reviewing product specifications, additional item information, and defect book to understand customer requirements.
• Testing plastic film (emboss testing, width testing, tear and tensile testing, gloss testing, fiberglass bleed testing, fiberglass adhesive testing, treat testing, scratch testing, blotch testing, etc.)
• Entering quality testing results into the production monitoring system.
• Calibrating Equipment
• Cleaning Equipment
• Conveying product quality inspection status to Supervisor and/or Extrusion Tech for management of the production process.
• Maintaining the sample retain system.
• Properly labeling and storing of retains in bags.
• Transporting and storing retain boxes.
• Discarding out‑of‑date retains.
• Maintaining a clean work environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Performing all duties following standard procedures and safety requirements.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in quality related field.
• Basic computer knowledge
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Familiarization working within a quality management system environment

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Salary

• Wages ranging from $20.00 - $26.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
