Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to handle tight deadlines and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Bonus: Experience in compute, Lidar, camera, or sensor assembly.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee calibration, preventive maintenance, and QA inspections (IQC/IPQC/OQC) on tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure on-time maintenance and CAPA.
  • Record inspection results in SAP and report non-conformances.

Role Title: Quality Technician - Asset & Line Quality
Location: Multiple sites:

(Fremont), and (Foster City)

Pay rate: $50/hr.
About the Role:

As part of the Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team, you will be a vital part of the Manufacturing organization responsible for managing preventive maintenance and calibration of tools, complex equipment and testers used for building, testing, troubleshooting complex software controlled electro-mechanical sensing elements. Our team has a collaborative resilient culture marked by being curious and by an energetic approach to bring the Robo Taxi to life. You'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to building the future of transportation.

In this dual role, you will be responsible for overseeing external and internal vendors to perform calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment and tools ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal procedures. This role involves performing line audits of equipment, coordinating with external and internal calibration and preventive maintenance vendors, ensuring maintenance is performed on time, reporting non-conformances and working with equipment owners on maintenance plans.

In addition, you will perform Quality Inspection (IQC/IPQC/OQC) as required, inspecting component/sub-assemblies and final assemblies, reporting results in SAP and working with cross functional teams to resolve non-conformances.

Role for Tooling, Calibration, and Asset Reliability:

Streamline and standardize the AHMO asset-intake process, serving as the single point of contact for equipment and tools purchased by the team or transferred from other departments. Collect and validate required information and provide complete documentation to the SAP data steward.

Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance performed by in-house technicians, including defining work scope, scheduling activities, confirming parts availability, and tracking completion.

Coordinate vendor-performed calibration, maintenance, inspection, and repairs with OEM vendors and internal teams. Create and track purchase orders, coordinate service and material receipt, verify completion, and support invoice processing.

Manage production-line tools, including tool issuance, inspection, functional checks, torque verification, status tracking, calibration, and repair coordination. Remove and quarantine damaged, overdue, or out-of-tolerance tools and ensure their status is accurately reflected in the system of record.

Monitor AHMO asset reliability and compliance KPIs and lead corrective actions for major equipment breakdowns and out-of-tolerance tools, including impact assessment, root-cause analysis, CAPA development, and effectiveness verification.

Role for Quality Inspection:

Support In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) on the PCU assembly line by performing inspections at defined process checkpoints, documenting results, escalating nonconformances, and confirming products meet release criteria before advancing to the next stage or shipment.

Perform Incoming Quality Control (IQC) inspections for materials, components, and subassemblies received at the AHMO area, verifying conformance to specifications, recording inspection results, and dispositioning nonconforming material per established procedures.

Support Quality Engineers in issuing and tracking quality alerts by collecting inspection data, communicating defect findings to the production team, and executing containment actions to prevent suspect material from advancing in the production flow.

Assist Quality Engineers with the implementation and verification of containment actions arising from IPQC, OQC, and IQC findings, maintaining accurate and complete records in the quality management system.

Submit PSW/PPAP documentation for approval

Assist engineers with proper MRB disposition activities

Support quality audits and process reviews of the PCU and Sensor Pod assembly line by gathering data, preparing evidence packages, and driving closure of audit findings within committed timelines.

Perform other tasks as required

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 6 years of progressive QA experience in a fully or semi-automated serialized production environment of complex electro-mechanical assemblies (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, Robotic industry).

Proficiency in using quality control tools, SAP/Oracle ERP software and MS Office/Google Suite.

Strong organizational, verbal and written communication. skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to handle tight deadlines and manage competing demands effectively.

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience in compute, Lidar, camera, or sensor assembly inspection

Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 standards
