Job description

Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule

We are seeking a skilled, hands‑on Quality Technician to join our engineering validation team at our San Jose facility. In this role, you will focus on complex experimental setups, R&D laboratory testing, and close collaboration with development engineers to execute critical validation protocols.

Unlike traditional inspection roles, this is an active, highly technical laboratory position. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic R&D and cleanroom environments, bringing the technical aptitude required to support cutting‑edge product development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute V&V Protocols: Run complex Verification & Validation (V&V) protocols, focusing on functional, reliability, and system-level performance testing.
  • Fixture & Rig Setup: Assemble, configure, and align specialized test fixtures, mechanical rigs, and test samples using standard laboratory and hand tools.
  • Data Integrity & QMS: Accurately record, track, and report performance data in strict alignment with our Quality Management System (QMS) frameworks.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Support engineering investigations by documenting unexpected test anomalies and contributing directly to root-cause failure analysis.
  • R&D Collaboration: Partner closely with R&D teams during early prototype builds and engineering studies to evaluate hardware functionality.
  • Process Improvement: Review, refine, and provide feedback to update internal test procedures, laboratory methods, and standard operating instructions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485 standards, and internal corporate quality systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Proven hands‑on testing, validation, QA lab, or engineering support experience in a regulated medical device environment (such as robotics, surgical devices, diagnostics, or complex electromechanical hardware).
  • Environment Adaptability: Demonstrated comfort working within dynamic R&D labs, cleanroom environments, and engineering verification spaces.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong practical, electromechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting automated test setups, rigs, or custom fixtures.
  • Education & Background: Associate’s degree, technical/polytechnic certification, or equivalent military/industrial laboratory experience is preferred. We highly value practical, active laboratory skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the capability to clearly articulate structural test failures, setup anomalies, and documentation trails.
  • Professional Drive: A proactive, self‑motivated professional with a strong desire to learn new hardware architectures and laboratory workflows.
