Job summary

Mubea, a global automotive supplier, seeks a Quality Inspector to join our Kentucky manufacturing team. You will enter data, select and test parts, and evaluate results to ensure products meet dimensional and performance standards.

You'll perform destructive and nondestructive tests, use gauges like calipers and micrometers, and assist operators with print interpretations. Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with IATF16949:2016 are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year college program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training.
• Experience or training in IATF16949:2016, Basic Plant Safety, quality standards preferred.
• Must have visual inspection experience.
• Proficient with Spreadsheet software and MS Office platforms (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Enters data into computer for analysis.
• Selects products for testing at production stages and tests for dimensions, performance, and characteristics.
• Records test data and applies statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate deviations from standards.
• Sets up destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance and material characteristics.
• Uses standard measurement tools and the metric system (micrometers, calipers).
• Operates force tester and hardness tester.
• Performs part layouts reports per drawings and specifications.
• Conducts in-process audits.
• Interprets prints with operators and gauging guidance.
• Trains operators on processing work instructions and gauging.
• Thrives in multiple fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.
• Interprets engineering drawings and consults to determine quality standards.

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Enters data into computer for analysis.
• Selects products for testing at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Must have knowledge of proper use of standard measurement tools and metric system. (micrometers, calipers, etc)
• Must be able perform to operate force tester and hardness tester.
• Performs part layouts reports according to internal and drawing specifications.
• Perform in-process audits.
• Work with operators on print interpretations and use of gauging.
• Assist in training of operators to specific processing work instructions or gauging.
• Ability to thrive in multiple fast-paced, high stress manufacturing environments.
• Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
• Interprets engineering drawings and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• 2- year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience
  and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  Experience or Training in IATF16949:2016, Basic Plant Safety, quality standards is preferred
  Must have visual inspection experience.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet
  software, and MS Office platforms, (excel, word, outlook, etc).

Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven business.
