Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience performing quality tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and quality documents.
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Customer quality assurance experience.
  • Previous experience as Quality Technician, Inspector, or Quality Auditor in manufacturing.
  • PC experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with dimensional drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and submits PPAP documents for new parts to meet customer requirements.
  • Provides engineering support to operations to apply quality techniques.

Position Overview

Responsible to ensure production objectives are met in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The Successful candidate will be one who is looking to advance his/her manufacturing career through development and implementation of standard manufacturing principles and will have the desire to promote to high levels of responsibility within the organization.

Role Summary/Purpose

Quality technicians are responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards.

  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, tests, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Ensures all purchased products or components meet required quality standards.
  • Develops and maintains defined procedures and work instructions necessary for first-article and in-process inspection activities.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Assists with internal audit activities to maintain TS-16949 standards. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • CMM utilization and program generation for part inspections, process validation, and calibration services.
  • Maintains strong understanding of measurement and testing equipment: calipers, micrometers, pin-gages, digital indicators, microscopes, comparators, etc.
  • Maintains calibration of measuring and test equipment and organizes basic repair and/or adjustment and servicing of measuring & test equipment.
  • Develop and submit PPAP documents for new parts to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
    • Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
    • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
    • Effectively communicate and reinforce Deutsche Precision’s commitment to quality improvement efforts
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year experience performing quality tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the automotive industry; Preferred
  • Customer quality assurance experience.
  • Previous experience as Quality Technician, Inspector, or Quality Auditor in a manufacturing environment.
  • PC experience as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with dimensional drawings.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of machine control interface on the Hydromat machine.
