Job summary

AriensCo in Fayetteville, TN is seeking a Quality Technician to support manufacturing operations. You will perform inspections, audits, testing, and measurements to ensure design, customer, and regulatory conformance.

Responsibilities include process audits, product audits, problem solving with 8D/A3, and Lean waste elimination. Salary starts at $20/hour for 1st shift with occasional Fridays; join a team focused on quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Quality Technician or Manufacturing Engineering Technician Certificate or Diploma from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• ASQ Certificate preferred.
• Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales
• Must have a strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds
• Must be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques for a given characteristic
• Must know how to measure using surface plate layouts
• Must have basic calibration knowledge
• Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution
• Must understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)
• Must know the basic problem-solving steps: understand the problem, determine the root cause, develop/implement solutions, and verify effectiveness

• Complete Product Audits to ensure conformity with design.
• Carry out problem solving using 8D and A3 methodologies.
• Eliminate waste using Lean tools and techniques.
• Support Manufacturing and remove production hurdles.
• Inspect components using various equipment to print/CAD specs.
• Learn Ariens standards and OPE industry standards.
• Teach Quality processes to other employees.
• Identify and process non-conforming material.
• Drive action by reviewing data and metrics.
• Reduce risk with PFMEA tools.
• Raise awareness with Quality Alerts.
• Communicate process capability using SPC.
• Verify supplier PPAP submissions or audit parts in incoming inspection.

Job Description

The Quality Technician provides hands-on quality support to manufacturing operations by ensuring products and processes meet design, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role performs inspections, audits, testing, and measurement activities to verify compliance, identify nonconforming material, and support corrective action and continuous improvement efforts. Working closely with production and engineering, the technician helps improve process capability, reduce risk, and maintain consistent manufacturing quality.

Pay: Starting at $20

1st Shift: 8:00AM-6:30PM Mon.-Thur. with occasional Friday's

Location: Fayetteville, TN Plant 6

The Day to Day

• Perform several daily Process Audits to ensure all processes are being followed per Ariens standards.
• Complete Product Audits to ensure all products are being manufactured per design intent.
• Carry out problem solving efforts, using 8D's and A3's daily.
• Eliminate waste in all processes using Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques.
• Execute "Floor Support" by supporting Manufacturing and removing the hurdles that negatively affect production.
• Inspect components, using an array of equipment, to print and/or CAD specifications.
• Learn Ariens standards and OPE industry standards and apply them in this role.
• Teach other employees Quality processes and methods.
• Identify and process non-conforming material.
• Drive action based on the regular review of data and metrics.
• Reduce risk using Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) tools.
• Raise awareness by posting Quality Alerts.
• Communicate process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Ensure AriensCo suppliers are compliant by verifying PPAP submissions and/or auditing their parts within incoming inspection.

The Qualifications

• Quality Technician or Manufacturing Engineering Technician Certificate or Diploma from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certificate preferred.
• Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales
• Must have a strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds
• Must be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques for a given characteristic
• Must know how to measure using surface plate layouts
• Must have basic calibration knowledge
• Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major, and minor characteristics
• Must have knowledge of testing methods
• Must be able to identify and report nonconforming material
• Must understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)
• Must know basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts
• Must know the basic problem-solving steps: understand the problem, determine the root cause, develop/implement solutions, and verify effectiveness
