Job summary

AriensCo in Fayetteville, TN is seeking a Quality Technician/Manufacturing Engineering Technician to perform process and product audits, drive quality improvements, and support Lean initiatives on the 1st shift. The role emphasizes problem solving, measurement, and adherence to quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

You will learn Ariens standards, read blueprints, and train others in quality methods while maintaining traceability and nonconforming material controls.

Qualifications

• Quality Technician or Manufacturing Engineering Technician certificate or diploma from college/technical school, or 3–6 months related experience/training.
• ASQ Certificate preferred.
• Understand measurement types and terminology, and measurement scales.
• Know how to read blueprints and definitions of critical, major, and minor characteristics.
• Know basic calibration and measurement tools.
• Identify and report nonconforming material; understand traceability (product, material, calibration).
• Know basic quality terms and problem-solving steps (define problem, root cause, solutions, verify).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Process Audits to ensure adherence to Ariens standards.
• Carry out Product Audits to verify conformance with design intent.
• Lead problem solving using 8D and A3 methods.
• Eliminate waste with Lean tools and techniques.
• Provide Floor Support to manufacturing and remove production hurdles.
• Inspect components using various measurement tools to print/CAD specifications.
• Learn Ariens and OPE industry standards and apply them.
• Teach others quality processes and methods.
• Identify and process non-conforming material.
• Drive action from data and metrics; review PFMEA to reduce risk.
• Post Quality Alerts and communicate process capability via SPC.
• Verify supplier PPAP submissions and audit parts in incoming inspection.

Job Description

Pay: Starting at $20

1st Shift: 8:00AM-6:30PM Mon.-Thur. with occasional Friday's

Location: Fayetteville, TN Plant 6

THE DAY TO DAY…

• Perform several daily Process Audits to ensure all processes are being followed per Ariens standards.
• Complete Product Audits to ensure all products are being manufactured per design intent.
• Carry out problem solving efforts, using 8D’s and A3’s daily.
• Eliminate waste in all processes using Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques.
• Execute “Floor Support” by supporting Manufacturing and removing the hurdles that negatively affect production.
• Inspect components, using an array of equipment, to print and/or CAD specifications.
• Learn Ariens standards and OPE industry standards and apply them in this role.
• Teach other employees Quality processes and methods.
• Identify and process non-conforming material.
• Drive action based on the regular review of data and metrics.
• Reduce risk using Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) tools.
• Raise awareness by posting Quality Alerts.
• Communicate process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Ensure AriensCo suppliers are compliant by verifying PPAP submissions and/or auditing their parts within incoming inspection.

The Qualifications…

• Quality Technician or Manufacturing Engineering Technician Certificate or Diploma from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certificate preferred.
• Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales
• Must have a strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds
• Must be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques for a given characteristic
• Must know how to measure using surface plate layouts
• Must have basic calibration knowledge
• Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major, and minor characteristics
• Must have knowledge of testing methods
• Must be able to identify and report nonconforming material
• Must understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)
• Must know basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts
• Must know the basic problem-solving steps: understand the problem, determine the root cause, develop/implement solutions, and verify effectiveness
